Bootloader Configuration

Gotchas

  • There is an issue with Xen unstable (as of 7/16/2012) and some Linux kernels (confirmed in 3.2) where the kernel will restart the machine midway through the boot process. The fix is to add "xsave=0" to the boot parameters for both the Xen kernel line and Linux kernel line in Grub.

Console Configuration

TBD

Network Configuration

When running Xen on a host it is normal to require some particular setup of the network stack in order to provide a way for Virtual Machines to access the network. The most common of these is to use bridging.

Host Configuration/Networking contains information on setting up the host network configuraiton for XL and xend on a variety of Operating Systems .
